Help us Build Poet-Athlete City!
People worldwide know Washington, but DC SCORES was born and raised in the District. For 30 years, we’ve been raising generations of young people through the power of soccer, poetry, and service and helping them to build strong, supportive local communities.
Now, as we look to our future, we are making a bold promise to D.C.’s youth: to transform the District into Poet-Athlete City. That means building a city where young people have the opportunity to thrive on the field, at the mic, and in their neighborhoods. It means standing up for the local families who are the backbone of our city. It means empowering the next generation of poet-athletes to be confident, resilient leaders for the communities they come from.
Our vision for Poet-Athlete City is to reach the young people who need us most. We currently serve 70% of Title 1 middle and elementary schools in the District — by 2030, we want to be in all of them. To lay this foundation, we need to raise $15,000 by Giving Tuesday on December 3.
